When it comes to reaching our biggest dreams and goals, consistency is essential—but there’s another piece of the puzzle that often goes unnoticed: setting small, attainable goals along the way. These “mini-goals” form the stepping stones on the path to success, allowing us to build momentum and confidence with each small victory.


Why do small goals matter so much? Think of it like building a house. The vision of a completed home is exciting, but it can’t stand without a solid foundation of smaller elements. Every brick, nail, and beam has a specific purpose, and without these carefully planned steps, the larger goal would be impossible to achieve. Small goals are like these foundational pieces—they make it possible to bring your bigger dreams to life.

    Tackling a huge goal can be overwhelming, especially when results aren’t instant. But when we break our vision into small, manageable pieces, each completed step provides a sense of accomplishment, creating a continuous cycle of motivation that keeps us moving forward.

  • Reflect on what achieving this goal will bring to your life—whether it’s a sense of fulfillment, new opportunities, or a deeper connection with yourself. Being clear on why a goal matters to you creates motivation and purpose, especially when you encounter challenges.


“What behaviors, habits, or thoughts do I notice that often get in the way of my progress?”

  • Write down any patterns, doubts, or actions that tend to disrupt your forward momentum. Reflect on when these have shown up in the past and what triggered them. Knowing your tendencies gives you insight and awareness, which can help you plan to overcome them.


“How can I create small, supportive steps to keep me on track, especially when I feel stuck or tempted to give up?”

  • Think of specific strategies to help you maintain focus and accountability. Maybe it’s a weekly check-in, a reward for each milestone, or reaching out for support. Identify ways you can help yourself stay on track, even when motivation dips or obstacles arise.
